I commented to my husband on a bleak winter day that I could make a quilt of the countryside, thinking it would be a plain white piece
of cloth because you couldn't discern earth from sky as all was the same color. As we drove along, I considered the narrow range
of white and gray colors.
The quilt is whole cloth with several shades of white and gray thread. The text is hand-written
with black ink.
"With a white winter sky and a little fog there is no horizon on the prairie - only leafless trees sketch the rolling
plains."
No Horizon was a finalist at the International Quilt Festival in Houston in 2011.
